Sooooo . . . as some of you know, I like to catalog the books I own and keep a check on my read-to-unread ratio.

The 2nd slide shows the updated numbers and the 3rd slide shows the numbers from August 2022.

To break down some of the changes . . .
- I decluttered over 100 print books that I realized I was never going to read or never going to read again.
- I still bought new print books, but I started to be more intentional with my book purchases and only buy books I was really excited to read.
- HOWEVER I purchased a lot of ebooks despite the fact that I know I rarely read ebooks. I just have a preference for print books unless the book is a short story or a really short novella.

Plans moving forward . . .
- I'll remain intentional with my book purchases.
- I'm only going to buy ebooks that are short stories or really short novellas unless it's a book that isn't available in print and that I plan to read immediately when I purchase it.

CHAOS editing outtake

I was going through my phone trying to find something, and I came across this picture I took while working on editing CHAOS. This was in a fight scene, and I remember laughing so hard I was in tears when I spotted it while editing. It is no longer in the book, but still it makes me laugh.

This is also a reminder for anyone who is scared to put your writing out there, we ALL make errors. None of us are perfect. My 1st draft was absolutely terrible and will never see the light of day. This error was in an even later draft. However, I didn't give up because writing means more to me than being perfect or the best. I'm proud of what I produced, and all the errors I made along the way are just reminders that I'm human and that a real living human being existed and put pieces of her heart and soul in this book for other people to share and connect with.

P.S. my apologies for the poor quality pic. I should've wiped off my phone's camera lens, but I took the pic a long while back so I can't go back in time to do that.

Listening to music is one of my main coping skills

Listening to music is one of my main coping skills aside from reading books and writing.

It especially helps whenever I'm dealing with really difficult moments in life that contribute to a significant increase in my depression or triggered my C-PTSD or anxiety.

I just wanted to share a list of the songs that have saved me and kept me going in my dark moments. A lot of these, I've been listening to a lot lately. There are plenty more I didn't include in this list, but I didn't want to make it overwhelmingly long.

Feel free to share any songs that help you to keep going below. They don't have to be rock music just because that's what I mostly listen to. As long as a song saves you, that's all that matters.

Read a couple of short stories by @indiebookspotlight yesterday and enjoyed them a lot. Highly recommend both.

My mental health hasn't been the best recently, and it has been impacting my ability to enjoy reading and to focus on what I'm reading. So I had to put a hold on reading the books I was reading because I feel like I just need something really quick. I asked for recommendations over on Twitter, and I remembered @indiebookspotlight had a few short stories, so I went ahead and started with a couple of those.
